The beautiful faces behind all of the voices of the Blueprint phones. Their role here is truly so crucial to our practice and to every single person who calls us reaching out for help. That first call for therapy is so important, so vulnerable, and each one of these guys treats each call as exactly that. Meet our Client Relations Team 👋

So much happens within the therapy hour. While it may seem like you’ll remember it all- the lightbulb moments, the connections, the perspectives, the feelings- truth is, once you leave the therapy bubble and go back to the “real life” it’s very common for people to think “wait, what was that thing I swore I wouldn’t forget?” Happens more often than you’d think.
.
For this reason, we encourage our clients to write down “take aways” from their therapy moments. Instead of handing out post it’s at the end of the session, our clients now get a personal therapy journal.
.
Use it during your session, after your session, in between sessions… however you decide to use it, we hope you use it well 💜💙🖤

“To be the person they get to sit across from” is such a gift… a little about me and my thoughts as a therapist 🖤
.
.
thank you to @fromotion.media for your time and choosing that my story is important 🙏💜

Because sometimes, you need a team member shout out. Shout out to Deonna, Blueprint’s Practice Administrator, who handles a little bit of everything over here behind the scenes… and there is A LOT behind the scenes. We all appreciate you🖤

As adults, sometimes we think kids have it made right? Everything in life is still ahead of them. We might look at kids and think “Man, those were the days”. But let’s be honest, kids today live in a more complicated world with more complicated issues than we may have had. Whether it’s dealing with the effects of social media on mental health, added pressures of school achievement, bullying, and a veritable infinite number of choices, being a kid is not always the joy ride we think it is and they sometimes need a little more attention and help to find a healthy way forward.
We feel, see, hear and understand these issues at Blueprint Mental Health. Our practice provides a warm, supportive and comforting space for kids 3 and up to work through these confusing and challenging feelings. Our clinicians use clinically relevant therapy styles through cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and interactive sessions to create the corrective emotional experiences that build confidence to help handle life’s ups and downs.
We currently have afternoon and evening appointments available. While it may now be summer, the fall is right around the corner and these are some choice appointment slots for when the school year comes.

Young adults are having a REALLY hard time these days. Whether they’re college aged, not in college and struggling get motivated to do anything OR… in college, totally overwhelmed and fighting to keep they’re head above water, talking to someone who is not a friend or family member, can have a HUGE impact on their life.
Here at Blueprint Mental Health, we pride ourselves on being a team that can really connect with young adults on a personal level, while also bringing a clinical expertise that is unmatched in our community.

We’re built different over here at Blueprint 💙
When we first imagined our practice, outside of offering extremely high quality care, we also knew we wanted to put a lot of energy towards what it would feel like at our practice.
Every nook and cranny of our space has parts of our personality built into it. This is definitely not us just filling space with HomeGoods purchases…This is us curating every piece of furniture and every piece of artwork on the walls, so that you feel our presence throughout our entire building.
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve heard, “I love coming a little early so I can sit in the waiting room and just relax.”
Stay tuned for the final product of our two new therapy offices and our new flex space that will inhabit our detached garage! 💙

You know John as the man behind Blueprint. You know Jason as Blueprint’s Clinical Advisor. You know them both as strong, relatable and down to earth therapists. The title you don’t see behind the scenes, and arguably the most important : DAD. 🖤
.
Happy Father’s Day to two amazing fathers in our own John and Jason, and to all the Blueprint dads out there showing up for their kids. Any guy can carry the title of a father… not any guy can carry the title and meaning of a DAD.
.
To all those who have lost their dad, struggle with their relationship with their dad, trying to be a dad and everything in between… we see you today. 🖤

A huge thank you to our good friend and colleague Courtney Battista, owner of Mindful Life Therapy in Somerville, for coming to Blueprint and guiding us all through a relaxing and incredibly helpful yoga and meditation. 🧘♀️ Charlie was especially interested and certainly added to the experience. Toby not so interested 😂.
.
John and I worked with Courtney for years on the same treatment team, now over a decade ago. It truly was so great having her in our space and leading our team today. She is a great therapist and an all around simply good hearted person. Come back soon!🫶😌

Please help us welcome her to our team 💜💙

Therapists out there- we need to speak up! Artificial Intelligence should NEVER be anyone’s therapist. Ever. You can not replace the healing component of real human connection and this targets a SUPER vulnerable population struggling with #depression #anxiety and #lonliness with targeted ads sending them to a robot to talk to. What 🌎 are we living in?!

🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ I wish we didn’t have to say this. However, this is the reality of the world we live in. A logical yet emotional rant by me, Michele, licensed therapist and co owner of Blueprint. 😵💫 Read below 👇
.
I was approached by an AP psych high school student years ago asking about our opinions on using AI for mental health therapy. At the time- I had to google AI as it was not a commonly known concept. My reply to this survey was that there was absolutely no way that artificial intelligence could hold the role as a therapist. The idea was absolutely ridiculous to me at the time. As a licensed professional, who believes (and research shows) that your connection with your client is the most healing component of therapy, this idea is still absolutely wild to me that a computer can be relied on for emotional support.
.
Well….. here we are. Woke up today and saw an advertisement on Instagram about “feeling down” and offering an app to chat with AI. This targets a vulnerable population and sends them to a robot to “talk” to. I am actually mind-blown. 🤯
.
From a REAL mental health therapist, I’m letting you know that NO, AI can not and should not be therapists. The whole world of what we do is about the connection, emotions and the human experience. While AI can scan the whole internet about what it should “say” to someone, a robot will not and should not be a replacement for human connection. 🤦🏼♀️🙆🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️
.
Who else out there is with me?! And no… this post is NOT with help from AI😏. Just my own frustrated real life human therapist self. - Michele, LPC, LCADC, ACS 💁🏼♀️
